In many Alcoholics Anonymous meetings I have attended there is a saying that pops up every once in a while: Religion is for those who are desperately trying not to go to Hell; Spirituality is for those, like us, who have been to Hell and don’t want to go back. The group will nearly always laugh when that observation is invoked. |

Raising kids in the twenty first century challenges parents more than ever. More crucial than setting broad goals is setting achievable ones and then putting them into practice. Baby Boomers in the Sandwich Generation are especially stressed by the responsibilities they face from both their growing children and aging parents. "I love my parents dearly and want to help them out as much as I can but I need to be there for my kids too. Impossible as it may sound, the only way to do both is to set aside some time for me too. I know that I'm absolutely no good to anyone if I don't take care of myself." |

I thought about this today...What does it mean to be a True Christ Follower? First of all, I do not want this question to lead to us thinking about others, but rather ourselves. That is for God to determine, our opinions are mere speculation because we cannot see the inner heart of a person, only God can judge perfectly. However, we are responsible for taking a sober look at our own life to determine whether we are a true disciple of Jesus Christ or not... |

I sat near the back of the sanctuary as the soloist made his way to the stage before the service began. He looked to be around 16, had dark curly hair and a preoccupied expression on his face. He sat down behind a music stand, adjusted his music, and gently placed his bass guitar on his lap. |
